[hide]MagicDisc
Sometimes it is easier to use a Virtual Cd Drive than it is to convert your CD Image to the correct format. MagicDisc is an easy to use Freeware Virtual CD Drive program. You can download it at http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm
Using Magic Disc
Download and install the correct version of MagicDisc for your Operating Sytem. After the install it will automaticly be running in the system tray. It will be setup with one Virtual CD Drive. By default, MagicDisc will run on Windows startup. To stop this, remove it's link from the Startup folder in your start menu. MagicDisc can still be started from it's program folder in the Start Menu.
Mounting a CD Image
To Mount a CD Image to the Virtual Drive, right click the MagicDisc Icon in the system tray. Hover over "Virtual CD/DVD-ROM", hover over the Virtual Drive, Then click on "Mount". Select your CD Image and the drive will be ready for use in 4DO. If you browse the Virtual Drive with the CD Image mounted, it's normal to not see any files in Windows Explorer. This is the correct behavior of a 3DO CD.
Unmounting a CD Image
To Unmount a CD Image, right click the MagicDisc Icon in the system tray. Hover over "Virtual CD/DVD-ROM", hover over the Virtual Drive, then click Unmount.
Disable or Enable a Virtual Drive
To Disable or Enable a Virtual Drive, right click the MagicDisc Icon in the system tray. Hover over "Set Number of Drives". Click the number of Virtual Drives you want to enable, or Click "Disable" to stop the Virtual Drive. You can close MagicDisc by right clicking the MagicDisc Icon, and selecting "Exit". If you exit with Virtual Drives still enabled, they will still show up and continue to work. When re-enabling Virtual Drives, you have to re-enable the drive and then open 4DO for the emulator to recognize the Virtual Drive.
4DO Speed Advantage
Using a Virtual Drive gives the same speed advantage of using CD Images over playing games directly from CD.
